Our Fraud Hotline provides an avenue for individuals to report fraud, waste and abuse within the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) programs and operations. We handle allegations regarding violations of laws or regulations affecting SSA programs and operations. A variety of situations may be considered fraud or violations of SSA programs. Some examples are: *Concealing work activity while receiving disability benefits *Receiving Social Security benefits for a child not under one’s care *Failing to notify SSA of the death of a beneficiary and continuing to receive and cash checks of the deceased *Making false statements on claims *Concealing material facts or events that affect eligibility for benefits *Buying or selling Social Security cards or SSA information *Crimes involving SSA employees *Misuse of benefits by a Representative Payee You may reach us by internet, mail, fascimile and telephone.
