Summer Dance Intensive
Program Description
The Capital Summer Dance Intensive will be an opportunity for students in the Capital School District, grades entering 5th to entering 12th, to access dance during the summer break. This is a chance to take a deeper dive into the art form during the day-long intensive, while also allowing mentorship bonds to naturally flourish between students. While being guided by the Delaware Core Art Standards in Dance, students will master skills that may not otherwise be achievable during the regular school year. The focal points will be on Creating and Performing, whereas in the school year we also spread our efforts to Connecting and Critique. By the end of the 8 days, there will be a final product put together via video in lieu of a live performance. This intensive includes: 1) Breakfast and Lunch (bring a reusable water bottle each day) 2) Dance "uniforms" (must be turned in to wash at the end of each week) 3) Transportation
