The Housing Stability Program, provided by Delaware State Housing Authority, is split into 2 programs. 1. Evictions Program- Provides eviction assistance, financial help with past due rent.First question to ask, “Are you currently past due on your rent?”If yes, ask the following questions: “Has an eviction been filed against you?””Have you been served eviction paperwork showing a court case number?”Examples of what a caller will need to provide to a CN: Court Summons for Eviction, Notice of Pre-Eviction, Writ of Possession. “Do you still live in the unit?If the answer is “Yes” to all of the above, refer caller to a Community Navigator. If the answer is “No” to any of the questions above, please inform the caller they he/she is not eligible for HSP assistance based on the information they shared. 2. Security Deposit and Future Rent- Provides security deposit assistance, and three months of future rent assistance. First question to ask, “Are you seeking assistance with security deposit and future rent?”If Yes, ask the following questions:”Have you found a new Landlord willing to rent to you?””Do you have an Approval/Offer Letter or Signed Lease from your new landlord?If the answer is “Yes” to all of the above, refer caller to a Community Navigator. If the answer is “No” to any of the questions above, please inform the caller they he/she is not eligible for HSP assistance based on the information they shared. Interested parties should contact the partner agencies for access to services. Please allow 5-7 business days to hear back from the Community Navigator. Request the caller notify agencies they reached out to once they have been contacted by an agency.
