The Summer Cooling Assistance Program (SCAP):This program operates during the months of April-September and helps to cool homes with a room sized air conditioning unit during the hot, humid summer months. Eligible households in Kent and Sussex County may receive an energy-efficient, window unit.Our goal is to ensure the health and safety of low-income residents, especially households with small children, elderly persons, persons with disabilities, and individuals with medical conditions which are aggravated/worsened by the heat.
