Healthy Families Delaware (HFD) is a statewide home visiting program for low income pregnant women and children less than 90 days of age, at no cost. HFD home visitors are Registered Nurses and Social Workers.HFD helps expectant and new parents get their children off to a healthy start. HFD strives to provide parents an opportunity to get the education and support they need at the time their baby is born until their child turns three (3 years old).HFD Focus: Family Development Maternal and Family Health Preparing and caring for an infant or toddler Infant and Child DevelopmentHFD Goal: To improve birth outcomes Reduce rates of child maltreatment Strengthen families Enhance child health and development outcomes Promote family stability and economic self sufficiency
