The Fraud and Consumer Protection Division protects the public from Securities fraud, Medicaid fraud, Patient abuse, Neglect and Mistreatment, public corruption, white collar crime, organized crime, and misleading or deceptive business practices.Investigates consumer complaints, enforces consumer laws, and provides information and education on consumer issues. In certain cases, the Consumer Protection Unit becomes involved in landlord-tenant litigation.
