COUNSELING SERVICES: Personal, marriage, family, and group counseling (groups include, but are not limited to couples. Counseling available for: theater veterans as well as any veteran who has been sexually traumatized or harassed while in the military. A special focus of counseling is the combat veteran who is having trouble readjusting and may be experiencing Post- traumatic Stress Disorder. The Vet Center encourages referrals of all eligible veterans for assessment, counseling, and referral.ADVOCACY SERVICES: Help with jobs and employment; upgrading “bad paper”discharges; information on Agent Orange and Persian Gulf health issues; and any problems with any agencies or institutions; information on Veterans Affairs benefits.OUTREACH: The Vet Center has an active program to seek veterans needing services. The Vet Center tries to reach specialized groups of veterans such as: Black, disabled , homeless and female veterans. Center also makes presentations to veteran service organizations, professional and community groups.
