The Rabies Program investigates suspected rabid animals and answers questions concerning rabies and animal testing. Collects rabies data. Provides education on rabies prevention and general information regarding animal bites and treatment. Rabies personnel can be reached through the answering service after hours for emergencies. FOR ASSISTANCE WITH ANIMAL CONTROL: Call Delaware Animal Care and Control, a branch of the Kent County SPCA. Data on Rabies testing and animal bites are available by calling the Rabies Program. All parties submitting specimens for rabies testing are provided with the results by telephone and they are mailed a printed hard copy of the lab result.
