The UD Lab Preschool functions as a part of the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) Department within the College of Education, and Public Policy at the University of Delaware.  The Lab Preschool, which is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, is a model preschool program whose primary purposes are to:Provide quality programs for young children including those with special needs and their families;Train and mentor University students as they learn how to work with young children and their families;Facilitate research by University faculty and students that increases knowledge about young chidlren and their families and how to support their growth and development;Serve as a site for professional development of high school students and early care and education providers.
