A History of American Popular Music

Program Description

American popular music is wonderful and diverse, and its origins are fascinating! Songs from our past reflect what was happening during those times and give us an understanding of what people dreamed about and enjoyed doing. Let’s discover the journey of American popular music throughout time and in the process understand how our music evolved to what it is today. We will start with late 19th-century rural blues and continue to the modern styles of pop, rock, and hip hop.
