Summer camps include activities that foster personal growth, social development, and fun. The type of camp may teach: Outdoor Skills: Every day there is a set amount of time for campers to enjoy fresh air, participate in activities, and get some good old-fashioned vitamin D. Teamwork and Leadership: Campers learn cooperation, communication, and leadership via games, challenges, and team-building exercises. They learn problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution. Arts & Crafts: Breakthrough Inertia camp offers painting, drawing, and free-thinking classes for campers to express themselves. Sports and Recreation: Campers can play a variety of sports and recreational activities to improve fitness, coordination, and sportsmanship. Breakthrough Inertia camp provides cultural immersion in hiphop/ music workshops. These activities extend campers' horizons and spark interest. Campers can learn cooking, first aid, and time management. Skills like these promote independence, self-reliance, and confidence. Friendship and Social Skills: Summer camp is great for making lifelong friends. Campers establish friends, communicate well, and show empathy and respect. Breakthrough Inertia summer camp provides a comprehensive and diversified learning experience that includes practical skills and personal development while having fun and generating lasting memories with new and existing friends.

Mentors are matched with a child from single-parent families and meet 2-4 times a month, either after school or on weekends. Activities can include making dinner together, spending time with the volunteer’s family, home projects or homework help.
