AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization that helps people 50+ have independence, choice and control in ways that are beneficial and affordable to them and society as a whole.They produce AARP The Magazine, published bimonthly; AARP Bulletin, a monthly newspaper; AARP Segunda Juventud, a bimonthly magazine in Spanish and English; NRTA Live & Learn, a quarterly newsletter for 50+ educators; and a web site, AARP.org.AARP Foundation is an affiliated charity that provides security, protection and empowerment to older persons in need with support from thousands of volunteers, donors, and sponsors.  They have staffed offices in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S.Virgin Islands.  Individuals who are 50+ may be eligible for automobile liability premiums by completing the AARP Driver Safety Program certification course.  Individuals may also qualify for free tax assistance preparation through AARP’s Tax-Aide Program.  Volunteer opportunities are available in these two programs as well as serving as AARP Legislative Advocates. In addition, AARP’s 12 local Chapters offer travel and social activities as well as community service opportunities.
