Brandywine Counseling and Community Services, Outreach and HIV Prevention
Circular design elements

The HIV Prevention unit at Brandywine Counseling & Community Services provides prevention and education to individuals at high risk for HIV who would not seek treatment or education otherwise. HIV prevention interventions are administered by trained HIV intervention counselors and address personalized risk, mechanical skills (condom use and needle cleaning), behavioral skills (communication, assertiveness, and refusal skills). All interventions also assist participants and clients in identifying and accessing needed services including treatment, housing, food, shelter, or transportation. Free confidential Rapid HIV testing is available; results are returned in 20 minutes. Call 302-656-2348 or stop by the outreach office at 2713 Lancaster Avenue, Drop-in Center, Wilmington DE 19805. Photo ID is required. Needle exchange is available on a mobile van at sites throughout Wilmington. One new needle is exchanged for each used needle. To be eligible, you must be an active injection drug user, at least 14 years of age, and a resident of the city of Wilmington.
