Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Peer Mentor Support
Circular design elements

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Peer Mentor Support Program provides free one-on-one support and education to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. DBCC Peer Mentors are trained breast cancer survivors who wish to reach out to help and support others with breast cancer. The DBCC has taken a key role in providing education about clinical trials to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Mentors participate in a 3-hour training that presents topics such as listening skills, the mentorship role, confidentiality, problem solving, handling difficult situations and reporting requirements. Trainees learn through lecture, interactive activities and role plays. Trainings are held as needed in each county.
