Division of Long Term Care Residents Protection (DLTCRP) licenses and certifies health care facilities to protect elderly and disabled citizens living in long term care facilities including: Nursing Homes, Intermediate Care Facilities, Group and Neighborhood Homes, Rest (Family) Care Homes and Assisted Living facilities. Also investigates complaints of abuse, neglect and fraud in long term care facilities and works with the Attorney General’s Office to coordinate investigations into abuse, neglect and fraud. Conducts criminal background checks for applicants for employment in long term care facilities. Manages the certification of Certified Nursing Assistants and manages the Adult Abuse Registry.
