Provides state oversight and/or licensure and federal certification to the following agencies/facilities: adult day carefacilities, ambulatory surgical centers, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities, end stage renal dialysis facilities,facilities that perform invasive medical procedures, free standing birthing centers, free standing emergency centers, home health agencies, hospice agencies and inpatient facilities, hospitals, outpatient physical therapy facilities, personal assistance services agencies, portable x-ray suppliers, and prescribed pediatric extended care centers. For the agencies/facilities listed above, the Office of Health Facilities Licensing and Certification (OHFLC) performs the following activities: (1) enforcing state and federal Medicare regulations pertaining to the specific agency/facility; (2) acting as the contact for applicants wanting to start a new agency/facility; (3) inspecting agencies/facilities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; (4) accepting and investigating complaints and concerns regarding the care provided by agencies/facilities; (5) maintaining lists of agencies/facilities. The OHFLC does not accept or investigate complaints related to billing or insurance issues.
