Programs include:  Financial Assistance Programs including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF is Delaware’s Welfare Program replacing AFDC) Food Benefits and General Assistance; Subsidized Child Care; Medical Services including Medicaid (available for families with incomes up to 100% of federal poverty level; most recipients are enrolled in Diamond State Health Plan Managed Care); Delaware Healthy Children Program for children in families with income up to 200% of federal poverty level (premiums charged on a sliding scale); Long-Term Care Medicaid (must be medically and financially eligible); Medicaid Waiver services for the Elderly and Disabled, Assisted Living, AIDS, Mental Retardation (to keep people in community settings as opposed to nursing facility); Children’s Community Alternative Disability Program; Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Program; Diversion Assistance.
