Promote fair and equal housing opportunities throughout New Castle County and Statewide according to the Fair Housing Laws (National, State, and local). Provides Fair Housing, Tenant/Landlord and Housing Counseling educational workshops, monitors Fair Housing compliance issues, and advocates for constituents and monitors legislation against discrimination in the housing market.
Provides certified comprehensive housing counseling programs, approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Counseling services include: first-time home buying counseling, down payment assistance programs, credit counseling certificate course; mortgage foreclosure prevention/default counseling; post home ownership counseling; credit repair and budget management counseling.
