The New Castle County Police is responsible for enforcing all laws and ordinances, preventing crime, investigating criminal activity, regulating traffic, protecting lives and property, and preserving peace in the New Castle County area. The New Castle County Police promotes Community Policing as one of its main objectives. Community Policing empowers citizens to take control of their own neighborhoods, to have influence on police services and access to them and to solve community problems.
